The load switches of the C, CA, CAD and CL-series offer a solution formost cam switch applications. Different contact designs, contact materialsand terminals allow for their use as control switches, instrumentationswitches and motor control switches, as well as in electronic circuitryand in aggressive environments according to IEC 60947-3 andVDE 0660 part 107.The stage is the basis for all switches and can be supplied with a maxi-mum of 2 contacts. The terminals are accessible from the side. CA andCAD switches are supplied with open terminals to facilitate wiring andare protected against accidental finger contact according to EN 50274,VDE 0660 part 514 and BGV A3. Switches up to type CA25B aresupplied with captive screws with clamping plates. The switch typesCA40-CA63 are supplied with box terminals. Captive plus-minus terminalscrews and integrated screwdriver guides facilitate wiring.The switches of the new CL-series are supplied with rust-free and acid-resisting IDC terminals (Insulation Displacement Connection) instead ofscrew type terminals. The stripping or preparation of the insulation is nolonger required. Eliminate errors due to i.e., stripped end of the conductortoo long or too short, incorrect sleeves used, sleeves crimped incorrectlyor wrong crimping tool is used, terminal screws not tightened properly etc.The CL switches reduce installation time by 60 %-70 % compared to thescrew type terminals. This translates to significant cost savings. Forconnecting 2 conductors to a terminal an additional screw terminal withplus-minus screw is available.If a positive manual operation or a higher DC rating is required, many ofthese switches can be fitted with a snap action latching mechanism -suffix „S“ – to the switch type.The cam-operated switches of the L-series are continuous current rated foroff-load switching. They may be used to switch resistive or low inductiveloads.
Control and Load Switches
The C-Series switches represent the classic cam switch by Kraus & Naimer. With specific models for all current ratings they offer an ideal solution for a wide variety of applications.
The CA-Series with fingerproof terminals from 10 A to 32 A is ideally suited for many standard applications where industrial controls, instrumentation and electric motors are involved. For low-voltage applications down to switching of electronic signals the CA4 and CA4-1 are offered. The CA4-1 has gold-plated contacts and guarantees reliable switching, even under adverse, aggressive environmental conditions. Fingerproof terminals, accessible either horizontally or vertically, captive plus-minus screws and integrated screwdriver guides designed for the use of motorized screwdrivers are some clear practical advantages of the CA-Series.
Main Switches
Pre-configured switches exceeding the requirements of IEC 60947-3, EN 60947-3, VDE 0660 part 107, IEC 60204, EN 60204 and VDE 0113 and meeting the standard on switch disconnectors, main switches and maintenance switches.
Kraus & Naimer-Optional Extras
The large cam switch line is complemented by a large number of various optional extras as e.g. key-operators, padlock able handles, shaft extensions and door clutches, auxiliary contacts and enclosures. This substantial number of optional extras and enclosures is needed in order to meet the requirements of the world market.
One or more optional extras may be used in combination with any one switch provided they are of the same switch size. A few exceptions where this cannot be accomplished are available. In some cases, for technical strength or esthetic reason, it may be desirable that a switch be combined with an optional feature of the next larger switch size.
